A person can apply for a visa online or through a travel agent. Various online services immigration visas also employ ETA or Electronic Travel Authority processing, which is equivalent to a visa. In the case of ETA, visitors are not required to submit their applications to the Visa Office Australia and also no stamp or label in their passports. 

ETA is valid for twelve months or until the passport expiry visitors, whichever occurs earlier. ETA allows multiple entries into Australia, provided the visit does not exceed three months. However, ETA selection is available only to citizens who qualify ETA.
