Parks

Sagamore Hills Park
The Township Park is located on Valley View Road, directly across the street from the Service Center.

Sagamore Hills Township Park
Sagamore Hills Township Park had its beginning in 1984 as a 5.3 acre parcel across the street from the township Safety Center. The parcel was donated by the State of Ohio. Under the direction of Trustee Rose Mary Snell, an additional adjoining 35 acres was purchased from the State of Ohio in 1997 and the park was born.
Today Sagamore Hills maintains 40 acres of park land and 191 acres of untouched green space within the township. The park space is meant to provide residents and visitors with a safe, clean, well maintained park for outdoor recreation.
Hours: The park is open from 9:00 a.m. to dusk throughout the year.
Pavilions: There are two pavilions, both with access to water, electricity, grills and restrooms. Pavilion A, the smaller of the two, is in close proximity to 2 playgrounds and a horseshoe pit and can accommodate up to 80 people. Pavilion B is adjacent to a large swing set and sand volleyball court and can accommodate up to 130 people. Both pavilions are handicap accessible.
Pavilions Reservations: Use of the pavilions is by reservation only and may be made by calling the township offices at 330-467-0900, ext. 4, weekdays.
Reservations for the pavilions may be made for up to one year in advance.
Cost for rental of the pavilions is $60.00 for residents for either pavilion and $120.00 for non-residents to reserve either pavilion.
Park Rules and Regulations are printed below.

Park Amenities:
There are individual picnic tables scattered throughout the park grounds.
Five baseball fields may be reserved through the Park office, 330-467-0900, ext. 4. All fields are available for play on a first come, first served basis on the weekends.
The park is unique in that there is a connector trail to the Summit County Metro Parks Bike and Hike Trail located at the southern end of the park.
A concession stand was built to serve ball teams and their friends and families during baseball season and is operated by the township.
Green Improvements (5-09) Click here for details on the raingarden, rain barrel, and pet waste disposal units.
Gazebo: The township's gazebo is located in the park and is also available for rental for small gatherings. It can accommodate up to 12 people. Electricity is available, but water is not available at the gazebo. Restrooms and grills are nearby.
Events: The Park schedule for 2009 is being finalized. Please check back for updates.

Park Contacts:

Cuyahoga Valley Regional Council of Governments

The Cuyahoga Valley Regional Council of Governments (COG) was first organized in 1977 as a non-profit organization (called the "Cuyahoga Valley Communities Council"). In 2007, the Council reorganized as a regional Council of Governments (under Chapter 167 of Ohio Revised Code) and its name was changed to highlight the regional emphasis of its mission. Today, the Cuyahoga Valley Regional COG is comprised of 29 participating units of government -- cities, villages, townships, counties, school districts, and metroparks (located within the region surrounding the Cuyahoga Valley from Cleveland to Akron), which work as cooperative partners with the Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP). Representatives are designated by the participating units of government to participate regularly in discussion forums that investigate mutual interests and concerns. View more information about COG members and their representatives at the following link: Cuyahoga Valley Regional COG.
